As part of the “Multilingualism in Translation” project, an international conference will take place at Paris Nanterre on 30 and 31 March 2023, organised by Laetitia Sansonetti (Paris Nanterre & IUF), Julie Charles (Univ. Lille) and Claire Hélie (Univ. Lille).
Keynote: Prof. Dirk Delabastita (Université de Namur), ‘“The Dutch tongue is the noise of mating pigs”. On translating David Mitchell’s The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet and a few more general thoughts on multilingualism and (its) translation’
Jean-Michel Déprats (Université Paris Nanterre), Prof. Iolanda Plescia (Sapienza Università di Roma), and Prof. Ton Hoenselaars (Utrecht University) will discuss the translation of multilingual scenes in William Shakespeare’s plays in a roundtable chaired by Dr Mylène Lacroix (Université de Lille).
Prof. Jukka Tyrkkö (Linnaeus University) will present a tool he has designed for code-switch detection in multilingual texts, the “Multilingualiser”.
